MICROBLADING & SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP

What is the Semi-Permanent Makeup?

Semi-permanent makeup, also known as micro pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, involves the application of pigments to the skin’s surface to enhance facial features. This can include procedures like eyebrow microblading, eyeliner tattooing, and lip tattooing. It provides a long-lasting makeup effect and can last for several months to a few years, depending on the technique and individual factors. It’s a popular choice for those looking to maintain a consistent appearance without daily makeup application.

What is the Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique for enhancing and shaping eyebrows. It involves using a small, handheld tool with fine needles to create small, hair-like strokes in the skin’s surface and deposit pigment into the superficial layers of the skin. The result is natural-looking, fuller eyebrows. Microblading is a popular option for individuals who want to define or reconstruct their eyebrows, especially if they have thin or sparse brows. It typically lasts for about 1 to 3 years, depending on individual factors and aftercare.

Powder Brows is an avenue of Semi permanent make-up used to make brows look more distinct and full. Powder brows achieve the look as if you applied powder directly to the brows to have a more filled in appearance. Powder brows are semi-permanent, and they are applied right over the top of your own natural eyebrow hairs. The tails of your brows tend to be darker, and the very front of your brows are often lighter, giving the appearance of an ombre look.

Permanent eyeliner is a process that can be done on both upper and lower eyelids. The lash line can also be filled in, making the lashes appear darker and thicker. A variety of colors can be used and it can be applied thin or very bold and dramatic. Mucosal eyeliner (Wet Line) is the art of adding color to the mucosal tissue just below the eye, this can give the eyeliner an extra bit of drama.

How long does it take?

The duration of a microblading procedure can vary, but it generally takes about 2 to 2.5 hours to complete. Here’s a rough breakdown:

1. Consultation: This can take 15-30 minutes, during which you discuss your preferences, expectations, and any concerns with the technician.

2. Mapping and Design: The technician will map out the eyebrow shape and design, which may take 15-30 minutes.

3. Numbing: A topical anesthetic is applied to the eyebrow area to minimize discomfort. It takes about 20-30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect.

4. Microblading Procedure: The actual microblading process, which includes creating the individual strokes and adding pigment, takes about 1-1.5 hours.

5. Fine-Tuning: After the initial procedure, a follow-up appointment is usually scheduled for 4-6 weeks later to make any necessary adjustments or touch-ups. This session can take around 1-1.5 hours as well.

So, from start to finish, you can expect a total time of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, including the consultation and follow-up session. Keep in mind that this duration may vary depending on the technician’s experience and your specific needs.

How do you after take care ?

After a microblading procedure, proper aftercare is essential to ensure the best results and longevity. Here are some general guidelines for taking care of your newly microbladed eyebrows:

1. Keep them dry: Avoid getting the treated area wet for at least a week, which includes avoiding swimming, saunas, and hot showers.

2. Apply a healing ointment: Use the provided healing ointment or one recommended by your technician to keep the eyebrows moist and promote healing. Apply it as instructed.

3. Avoid makeup: Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least a week to prevent infection or irritation.

4. Avoid sun exposure: Protect your brows from direct sunlight and tanning beds. Sun exposure can cause the pigment to fade.

5. Don’t pick or scratch: Let the scabs and dry skin naturally flake off. Picking or scratching can affect the healing process and pigment retention.

6. Avoid excessive sweating: Avoid strenuous exercise that causes heavy sweating for about a week, as sweat can push the pigment out.

7. Avoid certain skincare products: Some skincare products, like retinoids or alpha hydroxy acids, can fade the pigment, so avoid using them on or near your eyebrows.

8. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician: Your microblading artist will provide you with specific post-procedure care instructions. Always follow their guidance.

9. Attend your touch-up session: A touch-up appointment is typically scheduled 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. This session is essential for perfecting the results and ensuring the pigment is well-established.

Remember that everyone’s healing process can be slightly different, so it’s crucial to follow the instructions provided by your microblading technician for the best results and to maintain your new eyebrows.
